Introducing Journey Food Co / Gourmet. Coastal. Vibrant.
Imagine this... your Wedding day, Sunshine Coast sun dipping low over the horizon, ocean breeze as your background score and in front of you - a feast that feels like a love letter to food, to travel, to community. That’s the kind of experience Journey Food Co offers.Run by Channa and Ruby Senaratne, a couple whose shared past is steeped in travel, food and family, their culinary roots come from Sri Lanka (Channa’s early years). Followed by experiences in the Indian restaurant scene in Brisbane, through years abroad in Southeast Asia, Indonesia, and even running a surf‐charter boat where food wasn’t just nourishment, but connection.
Journey Food Co's story is one where they’ve eaten, cooked, learned, and then brought all that back home, blending authenticity, adventure, and warmth. If flavours were a story, theirs would span continents. The menus are lovingly curated to be inspired by Asia, Mediterranean, and Mexican cuisines.
They offer drop‑off catering (where they deliver a ready‑to‑serve spread), small party catering, corporate catering — all with that same DNA: fresh, global, full of flavour.

It’s not just the spices or the textures. What elevates a wedding with Journey Food Co is the sense that every dish has been thought through, personally. You can taste the intention behind each bite — the care, the craft, the connection to real people and real stories.
Their menus carry the vibrations of travel, culture, and adventure. It’s not just food - that's right, it’s a journey. Each course feels like it takes you somewhere, from the streets of Colombo to the shores of Mexico or the Mediterranean coastline, all while staying grounded in the freshness of the Sunshine Coast.
There’s also the joy of sharing - family-style platters, shared plates, food that invites interaction. Weddings are about coming together, and the way Journey Food Co serves their meals beautifully complements that spirit.
It’s generous, communal, and celebratory. And then there’s the visual and sensory delight: colours and smells that fill the room, aromas drifting across long tables, platters overflowing with greens, roasted vegetables, vibrant salsas, and the glow of golden-hour light catching the steam off freshly cooked dishes.
But above all, it’s the memory. Guests will the burst of flavour in that first bite, the laughter shared around a table, and the unexpected joy of tasting something new, made with love and served with heart.
