BYRON BAY / AURORA ESTATE

Welcome to Aurora House / Elegant. Intimate. Scenic.

Aurora House captures the magic of Byron Bay’s hinterland - luxury, nature, intimacy, freedom - all in one place. It’s not just about having a Wedding; it’s about creating a weekend, memories that stretch before and after the ceremony.

Set high on St Helena Ridge in the Byron Bay hinterland, Aurora House lies about 10 minutes from Byron Bay town centre and Bangalow. The property spans 52 acres of mixed farmland and rainforest, complete with ancient fig trees that spread like natural canopies. Because of its elevated position, you get sweeping 360‑degree panoramic views - ocean vistas, rolling green hills, dramatic hinterland.

It’s a place that feels secluded and private, but it’s not remote. You’re still close enough to Byron Bay’s beaches, cafes and creative energy. There are multiple options for ceremony and reception sites: you can choose a garden ceremony under ancient trees, a verandah or deck with panoramic views over the ridgeline, or more sheltered indoor or covered‑deck spaces if the weather turns.

The house also includes a beautiful 20‑metre pool and cabana to use during the weekend—perfect for lounging, recovery, photo ops, or just breathing in the sunshine.

Aurora House is built for connection. The size, exclusive‑use, settings under fig trees, views stretching across ridgelines - all of it crafts a sense of having your own private sanctuary. You'll love the Weekend Retreat feel because accommodation, ceremonies, photos, lounging, post‑wedding hangouts are all in one location - it’s not one day, it’s an immersive experience.

Enjoy the venues' versatility and character that feels elegant with rustic touches, architecture, nature, thoughtful design—great for couples who want photogenic beauty, but also warmth and ease.

Some practical considerations are: Music must stop by 10pm and guests depart by ~10:30pm as per local regulations. For larger guest numbers, extra provisions are needed (extra chairs, extra accommodation beyond the base up to‑10). Rollaways, pods etc can help but it’s still more suited to intimate weddings rather than very large Weddings. Caterers must use their own equipment; the house kitchen isn't available for its use.

The main house comfortably sleeps up to 10 guests with space for more via rollaway beds/sofa beds; in total, up to 14‑16 people can stay on site when including the additional "pods" (more on those in a moment). The pods are separate “Japanese style” self‑contained units, which are ideal as a honeymoon suite or for a couple wanting a little extra privacy. They have their own verandas, separate bedrooms, volcanic soaking tubs, and can accommodate extra guests if needed.

One of the brightest strengths of Aurora House is how it handles the Wedding logistics. The venue offers a base Wedding package that includes: Two‑nights accommodation for up to 10 guests in the main house. Use of the house, gardens, ceremony and reception spaces. On‑the‑day coordination (about 10 hours) plus planning help ahead of time to smooth over the many little details.

Essentials included: an arbour for the ceremony, ghost chairs for up to 20 guests, linen service, cleaning, a welcome pack on arrival (champagne included). Weather contingency is baked in too: there are indoor or sheltered spaces for ceremonies or receptions should rain threaten, so your day still unfolds beautifully even if skies aren’t perfect.
