The vision for this shoot was to craft something unapologetically editorial — a love story draped in mood, texture and timeless allure. Inspired by the romance of Valentine’s Day and the rising embrace of bold, expressive colour palettes, the concept unfolded into a world of red velvet reverie with a distinctly European, Italian-infused sensibility.
Rich crimson drapery cascaded like theatre curtains beneath the trees, setting the stage for a scene steeped in elegance. A classic Alfa Romeo and bespoke signage added layers of refinement, while every carefully considered detail whispered of Old World glamour. The result was a celebration of classic romance — dramatic yet sophisticated, modern yet timeless — where texture, tone and emotion intertwined beautifully.
We hope couples feel inspired to embrace bold colour choices, creative drapery, and experimental editorial styling in their own weddings. The response online has been incredible — with the images going viral on Pinterest, it seems we’ve already sparked some serious inspiration!
The Stable Studio in
Byron Bay was the perfect canvas for this editorial. Its cobblestone outdoor ceremony and reception area, paired with Italian-inspired architecture, effortlessly complemented the theme and allowed the styling and florals to shine.
Collaboration was at the heart of this shoot’s success. While Hannah developed the initial concept and assisted in planning, it was Rayna from
Vows & Things who brought the vision to life. Her attention to detail, styling expertise and creative flair were invaluable. Bianca of
Laceleaf Floral added her signature touch with stunning arrangements combining dried and fresh blooms and two-tone roses, elevating the entire scene.
"I’m particularly proud of the red velvet backdrop framing the champagne tower and cake table — everything came together so seamlessly. The stationery and signage by
Honey and Hive Designs' Natalie, added the perfect finishing touches, tying the reception styling together beautifully." -
