Their love story

Bianca and Ryan’s love story was twelve years in the making — the kind that starts in a high school classroom and slowly, unexpectedly turns into forever. They first met at just sixteen. Back then, romance was the last thing on the cards.

Ryan was the confident, slightly cocky class clown who always had something to say, while Bianca was the quiet, studious one who preferred to keep her head down and focus on her work. Different worlds, different energies — and definitely not interested in each other. But fast forward to Year 12, and something shifted.

Playful banter turned into lingering conversations. Teasing turned into tension. Then came an 18th birthday party, a moment alone, and a kiss that changed everything. From that night on, they were inseparable.

Twelve years later, Ryan decided it was time to make it official — although Bianca had her suspicions. “Hahaha yes, I absolutely did!” she laughs. “He planned a weekend away, which was already out of character, and then he got so nervous when I was sick leading up to it — that was the giveaway.”

Even when she knew it was coming, the moment was perfect. The Proposal
On the day of the proposal, we headed out on a wine tour — completely normal… or so Ryan tried to make it seem. What he didn’t account for was the very obvious ring box sitting in the pocket of his tight chino pants. I could see the outline of it all day 😂

He thought he was being subtle. He was not. He had originally planned to propose at one of the stops on the tour, but with a few too many curious onlookers nearby, his nerves got the better of him. So instead, he pivoted to Plan B — which turned out to be even more perfect.

That evening, he surprised me with a candlelit picnic set up under the stars. I’ve always loved astronomy, so he had arranged a telescope for us to use during the picnic. At one point, he asked me to find something for us to look at. I adjusted the lens and finally spotted Saturn. Excited, I turned around to tell him… and there he was, down on one knee.

Even though I knew it was coming, I was completely overwhelmed. All the emotion hit me at once — and in the shock of it all, I didn’t actually say yes. Ryan started to panic, so he asked again. That’s when I laughed and yelled, “Well obviously — it’s a yes!” And just like that, twelve years of love led to the easiest answer of my life.

The Venue’s Winning Factor

The Stables at Bendooley Estate was truly the complete package for us. Having a single location for both our ceremony and reception was a huge win — it meant our guests didn’t need to travel between venues, which made the day feel seamless. The scenery itself is stunning.

We knew our wedding was set for autumn, and the location promised (and delivered!) those incredible autumnal colours that would wow everyone. On top of that, the venue had a solid wet weather backup plan, which gave us real peace of mind — though thankfully, the day ended up perfectly sunny.

Another major bonus? The catering. Bendooley Estate is known for its world-class food and drinks, so we felt confident that our guests would enjoy every bite and sip. But the real standout was the wedding team. They managed every detail with expert precision while still keeping everything personal. Every request we made was remembered and executed perfectly, all with a smile.

Nothing was ever too much trouble. We honestly can’t recommend them enough — they made our day feel effortless, beautiful, and completely stress-free.

Most Important Theme Element

For us, it was all about the candles. We wanted our tables to feel romantic and sophisticated, and there’s really nothing that compares to a candlelit dinner for setting that kind of mood. The glow created the perfect ambiance for the evening, making every moment feel intimate and timeless.

Utmost Favourite Moment

Dancing and singing along to “Danielle (Smile on My Face)”, with our arms wrapped around each other in the middle of the dance floor, was pure magic. In that moment, we were so in love — completely lost in each other — and we’ll carry that joy with us for the rest of our days.

Favourite Wedding Detail

Our floral arbour was an absolute showstopper. We combined luxe white blooms — lilies, orchids, and roses — with rich green foliage, arranged in lush masses on black frames and the overhead ring feature at The Stables. Against the dark wooden doors behind it, the frames almost disappeared, making the flowers look like floating clouds. It was dreamy, romantic, and exactly the whimsical yet sophisticated look we had imagined.

Dress Shopping Experience

Shopping for my wedding dress at Marry Me Bridal was an absolute dream. Their range of dresses was fantastic, and the team made the whole experience fun, stress-free, and completely supportive. I actually ended up buying three dresses! My first dress was beautiful, but a few months later I had second thoughts. The team was incredibly patient and helped me find a new dress that I instantly fell in love with.

On top of that, I picked out a cute mini dress — perfect for kicking off the party — and I’d recommend it to anyone looking for a fun, stylish reception outfit. Even last-minute worries, like a panic about my veil, were handled with ease. The team sorted it on the spot, making me feel calm and cared for.
