Set among blooming roses and the enchanting, European-inspired gardens of Masonmill in Perth Hills, Poulami and Joel’s wedding was a celebration of love that felt both timeless and deeply personal.
Captured beautifully by Tracey of Love Your Story Photography and brought to life on film by Simone of Dusk Photo and Film, the gallery was shot on a combination of 120 film and digital, blending rich, natural colours with an editorial softness that perfectly reflects the day.
From a humble Melbourne beginning to a seaside proposal in Busselton, their journey unfolded with intention, intimacy, and a sense of adventure.
Guided by celebrant Ally of Valentine Celebrations, their ceremony was heartfelt and meaningful, seamlessly unfolding within the lush surrounds of Masonmill, while Clarinda of The Starting Line Events ensured every detail of the day ran effortlessly.
Blending the richness of Poulami’s Indian heritage with modern Western elegance, their wedding featured romantic florals by Anna of Petal Polka, perfectly complementing the manicured gardens and refined setting, with styling elements by Hire Society enhancing the overall aesthetic.
Guests were serenaded by Sash and Bec of Pinnacle Duo, creating a warm and emotive atmosphere, while a beautifully crafted cake by Lisa of Sieve and Stone added a sweet finishing touch. Arriving in style thanks to Darryl and Janine of Classic Muscle Weddings and Tours, every element was carefully curated.
With meaningful music, handcrafted details, and a dream team of vendors bringing every moment to life, their wedding was not just a beautiful event—but a true reflection of their story, their values, and the life they are building together.
Like many great love stories, Poulami and Joel’s began quietly and unexpectedly. While living in Melbourne, their paths crossed through a mutual friend of Poulami’s. What started as a simple introduction soon unfolded into something far more meaningful—a connection that would eventually lead them down the aisle together.
A long weekend escape to Busselton, just south of Perth, became the setting for a moment neither would forget. The trip began with wine at a local winery, sunset views along the beach, and cosy evenings spent playing board games.
But it was the following morning that truly changed everything.
Before heading out for breakfast at a charming farmhouse, Joel surprised Poulami by getting down on one knee and proposing. In a beautifully intimate twist, the newly engaged couple chose not to share the news right away. Instead, they lingered in their own private world—soaking up the joy of the moment while exploring Western Australia’s lighthouses and coastal trails, wrapped in the quiet magic of their engagement.
When it came to choosing a venue, Poulami and Joel were drawn to greenery, romance, and timeless elegance.
Masonmill was everything they had envisioned and more.
With its manicured hedges, blooming roses, and European-inspired gardens, stepping into the venue felt like entering a French countryside dream. Visiting in November meant the gardens were in full bloom, creating the perfect natural backdrop for their celebration.
At the heart of their wedding was a desire to honour Poulami’s Indian heritage while embracing a modern Western aesthetic.
The result was a beautifully curated fusion—where tradition met elegance. Every detail was thoughtfully considered to reflect both cultures, creating a celebration that felt deeply personal and uniquely theirs.
Poulami had a clear vision for her wedding look from the very beginning.
Six months before the wedding, the couple travelled to India in search of the perfect dress. After visiting numerous designers, Poulami found “the one”—a breathtaking lehenga that captured everything she had dreamed of. The piece was meticulously handcrafted and custom-fitted over several months, making it all the more special.
Joel’s experience, by contrast, was refreshingly simple. With a clear idea in mind, he quickly found a suit that perfectly complemented the day’s style and setting.
With a year to plan their wedding, the couple approached the process with intention and organisation.
Their biggest piece of advice? Start early.
By ensuring that nearly every detail—from DIY projects to final touches—was completed a week before the wedding, they were able to truly relax and be present on their wedding day.
Their wedding musicians, Pinnacle Acoustic, took the time to learn an acoustic version of Ajab Si, an Indian song from one of Poulami’s favourite movies, for her to walk down the aisle to. "Our first dance song was an unplugged version of With Me by Sum41, as we are both fans of punk/pop-punk music."
